August Bank Holiday

The summer holidays ended on a high for six of Towy Riders youngest members, who entered the ATAC Junior Duathlon at The Welsh Closed Circuit in Pembrey on Tuesday 31st August.

Three members of the club entered the age 8 in year event and despite it being their first race outside of training, Mali Beynon won the girls category, with team mate Alys Williams taking the bronze position, along with Osian Brodrick taking 3rd position in the boys category.

Sucess continued in the boys 9-10yrs event, with all three Towy Riders sweeping the podium positions with Noa Jac Thomas winning the race, Griff Beynon achieving the silver, and Osian Davies taking the bronze.

Towy Riders coach Simon Williams who attended the event said "For Mali, Alys, Osian and Noa Jac to achieve podium positions in their first competitive race is amazing! And then to have a clean sweep of medals with the boys 9-10yrs against children who train and compete in triathlons across Britain and train more than 3 nights a week is just incredible! This success shows our Towy Riders family certainly has the potential, and we are looking forward to entering the cyclo-cross and cycling events over the coming months"
